PIMPLES

This post may look out of the league, but as I am having an irritating time by having a pimples somewhere in my EAR, the pimple was more near to my brain then my hands, and it gave my brain the message to post this...

Is a kind of acne, and one of the many results of excess oil clogging the pores

Acne is a common human skin disease, characterized by areas of skin with
  • seborrhea (scaly red skin)
  • comedones (blackheads and whiteheads)
  • papules (pinheads)
  • pustules (pimples)
  • nodules (large papules)

mostly at the part of skin with the densest population of sebaceous follicles
  • Face
  • Upper part of the chest
  • Back

How?

Inside the pore (small holes on skin) are sebaceous glands which produce sebum

When outer layer skin shed (as they do continuously), the dead skin cells left behind may become 'glued' together by the sebum

Causes the blockage in the pore

More sebum produced builds up behind the blockage

Treatment

Over-the-counter medications
  • Benzoyl peroxide
  • Salicylic acid
  • Antibacterial agents such as Triclosan

Prescription medication
  • Isotretinoin
  • Tetracyclines
  • Erythromycin

10 Natural Ways of Acne Treatment

  • Do not pick, press or rub pimples. These can increase the sebum production and rupture the membranes below skin

  • Wash face twice a day using a mild soap, however, don’t over-wash as it will stimulate to produce more sebum

  • Food allergy can cause very serious acne condition, avoid eating too much oily and spicy food

  • Drink more water every day “Eight glasses of water a day can keep acne away”

  • Do not wear makeup if possible. Makeup products can clog pores. Be sure to clean makeup brushes regularly and cleanse skin before sleep

  • Do not use oily products. Avoid products such as hair pomades, intense oil-based facial moisturizers, and oily cleansers

  • Keep the face clean. Do not rest the chin on hands or constantly touch the face

  • Exercise moderately as it helps in blood circulation and elimination of toxins

  • Stay stress-free. Studies have shown that stress not only worsens acne flare-up, it also worsens the overall skin condition

  • Get sunshine and fresh air. Sunshine stimulates vitamin D in the body, an essential vitamin for healthy skin. Fresh air and sunshine can also reduce stress (acne tip #9) and increase oxygen to the skin

Some Homemade remedies

  • Lemons and tomatoes

Cut into four pieces and take each piece of lemon or tomato and rub it on your face. You may have a little something left on your face. Just leave it there. It's for your own good. They will make pimples disappear almost overnight. It they don't disappear they will be smaller the next time you check

  • Don't pop that pimple right away
A mask of grated apple mixed with a little honey
applied to the skin for 15-20 minutes then washed off with warm water, followed by a cold rinse

  • Toothpaste
Apply a dab of toothpaste on the pimple overnight. You may need to test this on a short-term basis to make sure it doesn't irritate your pimple
Calamine lotion will have the same drying effect

SO BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR PIMPLES NEXT TIME. AND IF YOU HAVE ANY OTHER HOMEMADE REMEDIES FOR THIS, DO PLACE IT IN THE COMMENT BOX. THANKS
